Today went as planned – we purchased a digital camera, watched RENT and then I went ice skating at Rockefeller Center.

We purchased a Casio EXILIM Zoom camera and it has the features were were looking for – internal rechargeable batteries, mechanical zoom, 16 megs of memory (expandable with memory cards) and connects via USB to the PC and MAC. Now I can take more pictures for the blog – our 8 year old Sony Mavica was too large to easily bring along and it used floppy disks for storage.

Seeing RENT on stage was a real treat! We had seats in the center orchestra section four rows back from the stage. I’m still humming the song “Seasons of Love”. I’m amazed that the actors repeat their performances 8 times a week. It must be emotionally draining for them – especially for the actor who plays Angel…. I liked the pace of the musical better on stage then the movie version. Tomorrow John wants to go to the East Village to see the neighborhood that RENT was based on.

Skating at Rockefeller Center was very cool – it is such a pretty place to skate. I saw two different guy propose to their girl friends on the ice in front of the gold statue.
