I made it back from my evening walk without getting wet. Earlier this evening there was some thunder and lightening but it passed us by without any rain. John is not amused when I’ve been stuck in the rain and call him to drive an pick me up – so I’m very happy the weather cooperated!

The bubble wrap on the front and side windows has been a big help in keeping the motor home cool. Yesterday when I came home from work, the interior temperature was 77°, while the outside temp was 102. Today it was 75° inside while it was 95° outside. The wrap has kept us at least 10°’s cooler during the heat of the day.

I’m still waiting for the fourth episode of Canadian Idol to get done downloading. This one is taking forever – and it is only 241 megs out of a total of 701 megs complete. It downloads quickly for a bit and then slows to a trickle and then starts going faster again… I’m getting a bit impatient….

I’m trying to come up with something fun for us to do this upcoming weekend. So far what I’ve come up with is Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC which is 2.5 hours away and the Carowinds Theme park, which is about an hour and a half away.

Biltmore Estate

I’m not into amusement park rides, so checking out the Biltmore Estates will probably be a better option.

Touring the Biltmore Estate is not exactly cheap – the base ticket is $45.00 then there are several add-ons that would be nice. $15.00 for a guided tour, $15.00 for the rooftop tour and another $15.00 for the behind the scenes tour – for a Grand Total of $90.00 per person. I’m sure we will want to dine at one of the on-site restaurants, so we will probably drop around $300.00 on the day. The insurance company I work for has some type of a discount plan with them that I will check out tomorrow.

Tomorrow I have three different code changes that will be promoted into Production starting at 5:00pm. I will probably not get home until at least 7:00pm. Last week I had one code change go in, and I did not get home until after 9:00pm…. The extra time is nice, but I’m not supposed to work over 40 hours a week, so I will probably need to work some shorter days to compensate….

Perhaps John will be nice and do a blog posting tomorrow for me…..
