Greetings from another day in Quartzsite, AZ….

Somewhere over the rainbow... there's a job for me....

The weather has been super crappy out… today it only got up to 59° out – but it feels cooler because of the wind and overcast skies. It has been raining on and off most of the day – so it keeps things damp and unpleasant outside. The only plus is the numerous rainbows that have been appearing in the distance – here’s a picture of one of them:

The job search went a bit better today – there was three new jobs that I applied for and I actually recieved phone calls from recruiting companies regarding them. So my resume has been submitted to clients in CA, TX and NJ. Some of the phone calls I receive from consulting companies are very difficult to understand – the combination of accents from India and cell phone fidelity make it an art form to communicate with them – it is almost like listening to Morse Code – you listen and then try to translate what you’ve just heard into English…..

The Verizon EVDO internet connection worked properly today – so it must have been some sort technical difficulties on Verizon’s behalf. Yesterday was the first time in over a year that we had any problem with their internet service – so I can’t complain too much…

I received an email from www.Amazon.com that said I have been officially enrolled in their affiliate program – so I’m now an official “Amazon Whore” – pushing their products for personal gain :) I’m just hoping to make enough to pay for the monthly hosting fees… Today Amazon announced an updated version of their Kindle 2 e-Book reader. Once I get a job, get caught up with bills/credit cards I will definitely purchase one of these. I like the idea of being able to instantly purchase books and not having the clutter of real books in the motor home. I also like the idea of having a library of technical manuals loaded in it. This way I can replace the boxes of books that I usually take to work with me.

Tonight John invited Connie over for supper. John is making Beef Stroganoff – one of my favorite dishes that he makes.

We are still on track to heading back to Palm Springs later this week – probably on Wednesday. This plan can change at any moment if I happen to receive a job offer… probably will not happen so quickly, but I keep reminding myself that a single email / phone call could change everything.

Connie will be here in a few minutes – so need to get blog saved, and get ready for company….
