Greetings from a cool Livermore, CA… The temps cooled down overnight… To me it seemed like it was colder and damper in Pleasanton then in Livermore…. because Pleasanton is closer to the bay I assume…

I worked a 9 hour day today in an attempt to minimize the effect of having Friday off. I worked most of the day on fixing another bug in the “Notes Application from Hell” – the end users are not happy, the tester is not happy and so it has not been lots of fun for me… The last change I made made it though testing today and now it is up to the end users to test it and give it their blessing so it can be moved into Production next week…..

I barely made the bus on the way home… a few seconds later and I would have missed it and would have to wait 15 minutes for the next one…

On the bus I watched a home video of a family’s visit to California and Disneyland in 1956 – one year after Disneyland opened it’s doors. They won the trip from Scotch Tape. I downloaded this from www.archive.org for free. Their plane departed New York City, made a stop in St. Louis and then on to California. It was cool to see the old DC-7’s and the views of Lambert Airport in St. Louis. You can check out the video at this link – it made me giggle…

I walked from the bus stop to the mobile home park in the dark… was kinda spooky with all of the “Yes on 8” signs…. The mobile home park would make a good backdrop for a horror film…

On the way home I had a confirmed “homosexual sighting” in Livermore – an older male couple was walking down the sidewalk and one guy had his hand around the other. My guess is that they are doing it on purpose to increase the visibility of gay people in the community… I give the two guys credit…. it is pretty cool of them…

John was listening to the locals talk on one of the ham radio repeaters and one guy was talking about how he was going to vote Yes on Prop 8 – “the only way to vote on that issue”… how sad… plus it is not ethical for hams to talk politics over the air… They could be putting their license’s in jeopardy.

Not much else going on… we might have some good news to report tomorrow… don’t want to jinx anything until it is final….. With a little luck I will be singing the theme song to “The Jefferson’s”…
