Greetings from a wet fall day in Iowa..

Has been rainin on and off since yesterday morning.  Not raining as I type but the back parking lot is still wet and full of puddles.

The new tennants are all moved in – so far no major problems have been reported.  Not expecting anything but never know…  They have been having difficult time getting cable TV installed – Mediacom has their third trip scheduled for today.  The apartment building has no current Mediacom customers so they are having to run new cable to the building.  Installer yesterday ran into problem with not enough “PEU’s” on the pole to run another service from it.  Today a different set of intallers will be here to install a larger “PEU” and run cable underground to the building.  I’m home all day to deal with this, but also have John demanding that they do not drill any holes in the new siding.  We are hoping they can use the existing coax cable that is under the siding and not have to run new…Plan on having John yell at me no matter what the installers do 🙂  We are also considering switching to Mediacom for internet because they offer really fast internet.  Our current service is 40 mbps and they offer 105 mbps – maybe in some areas.

Next week we both have Friday off – so heading to the court house to apply for marriage license.  We need to bring a 3rd party with us – so Don/Troy and maybe Mitch will be coming along.  Will buy them lunch after we fill out the marriage paperwork and pay our $35.00.  Then after three days we can pick up our license and then have an officient do the marriage.  We first meet the weekend after Thanksgiving so want the date of our marriage to be the same…  We kinda went through this process when we did our domestic partnership in Wisconsin…

Then after courthouse and lunch with friends we want to go on one last camping trip.  Have not selected where but maybe Lakeside Casino, Lake Anita or a state park.  Checked and the casino does not have any special entertainment that weekend but have a decent camping area with full hookups and nice cement patios.  Will see what the weather is like then…

We are starting to plan some type of winter get away.  We would like to go visit John’s Aunt and Uncle down in Florida since we have not seen them in over five years.  Also thinking about combining the family visit with a few days in Key West.. Another option is to head to the January rv rally in Quartzsite, AZ….. Will see…

Not much else is going on – sounds like “Logan the Lawn Guy” is starting to mow our lawn and rake leaves.  Is a mission of mercy this week because the two large oak trees have started dropping their leaves…
