Greetings from a soggy Arlington, TX…. yep it rained this afternoon – enough to keep things moist…

The ground was wet enough that John was unable to mow, so he did other odd jobs around the RV park. One of the jobs was to replace some of the landscaping timbers that keep the gravel in place in each site. The fun part is that they use rebar to pound through the timber and into the ground. It sounds like fun…

I had another busy day at work. Now I’m involved in a very poorly planned project. I attended a meeting today where they figured out how little they had actually planned and that they have a mess on their hands now… It makes me giggle because it is not my project, I just have a small programming task to support it…

I spent some time on my “never ending project” – I call it that because it is planned to take me around 480 hours to complete – job security. I keep getting pulled away from this large project so I have not gotten very far with it… barely past the planning/documentation stage. I know a project is going well when I can visualize what it will be like when it is done. With this project I can do that.. not a good sign…

On the way home I listened to a local AM radio station (KRLD 1080 AM)- mainly for traffic reports. Today they had lots of guests and listener call in’s to discuss the “Swine Flu Epidemic”. The topic got lots of kin folk all riled up about closing the Mexican border. Lots of people wanted to “Close’er fer Good – Close’er like Cuba”. The highlight was when they called one of the top officals of The Minuteman to see if they have seen any Mexicans cross the border with the Swine Flu… The Minuteman will be a good new source… of course they also want to close the border up tighter then their virgin cousin…. Lot of the people who called in had a “delusional arrogance” thing going for them…

So the daily traffic reports have been mentioning what sounds like “Loop-Pay” – “We have a three car accident on Loop-Pay today…” I finally figured out after listening for two weeks that they are actually referring to Loop-8 … I’m still not doing very well at understanding Texas style diction….

After supper (Microwave sausage lasagna with white sauce from Target – it is actually pretty good) I made a quick trip to the Arlington Public Library to return a DVD that was due today along with a book. The library is only 4 miles away from the KOA, but with the crappy traffic and numerous traffic lights it feels more like 30 miles away…..

I enjoyed Adam’s performance of “Feeling Good” on American Idol this evening. I think he was by far the best performer. I made a point of calling in to vote 20 times…. I kept a tally on a piece of paper to keep track……

Prince is feeling extra needy tonight… he keeps brusing against my leg so I will play with him more… first with his feather toy, then with his “George” toy, then with his toy mice and etc… It’s all about Prince tonight….

Not much else going on… I’m off to read and fall asleep……
