Greetings from a gorgeous day in Milwaukee, WI

Temps got into the upper 80’s today with a light breeze… Hope the upcoming Memorial Day weekend is just a nice, so I can spend time outside…

We had a busy weekend. John ended up having Saturday off, so he got to come along with me to see Bernie and Mike at their campsite by Madison, WI. The weather was great so we sat outside on their fancy patio, had hamburgers on the grill for lunch and visited.

Nice picture of Bernie....

It was “naked weekend” at the campground, so we would see groups of nude guys wander by… most of them you really really wish they had clothes on…. Nudism does not bother me, but I really don’t see the point in it…. Some people really get into it… I can take it, or leave it….

John's actually laughing while Mike J. opens up gifts....

After our visit, we then headed into Madison, WI for Mike J’s 30th birthday party. We arrived at 4:45pm, and they were still setting up, so we got to help decorate by blowing up balloons, hanging streamers and etc. They had a really fun party… had around 15 people in attendance. I was a very naughty boy, eating lots of yummy party food…. Seattle Sutton would have kicked my ass if she saw what was on my plate…. but that’s part of the fun of birthdays….

We left the party around 10:00pm because for the drive back to Milwaukee. I drove the Jeep back while John went in and out of sleep – with his works hours all messed up, he was pretty much wiped out. The drive back was uneventful, except for the fact that the Jeep’s cruise control was not working. Earlier in the day John stopped and checked out the fuses and they were all fine… More of a nuisance then anything…

We both slept in a bit on Sunday, but when I got up the toe on my left foot was throbbing with gout inflammation. The gout was starting to hurt last week, but was back on the medicine and it seemed to be getting a little bit better. As the day progressed on Saturday it kept hurting more and more… Then Sunday morning it was really bad… So after some dinner, John dropped me off at Aurora Health Care Walk in Clinic. I got lucky – they were not very busy when I walked in, and was able to get in to see a doctor within 15 minutes. He looked at my toes, said that yep it’s gout and it looks really sore. He prescribed me some more Prednisone and said that it should clear it right up. I then waited in the waiting room for John to pick me back up.

John was at Best Buy purchasing a video projector for his computer. He wants the projector for work, and for watching movies outside… Now that John has a job, he has more spending money… He seems very happy with his purchase… He purchased some type of Casio projector that uses LED bulb that lasts much longer then traditional projector bulbs…

After his purchased he picked me back up from the clinic. By this time the clinic was much busier… lots of children who were hurt and pregnant women… He then dropped me off at the “No-So-Super Walmart” so I can get my prescription filled while he gets his hair cut. By this time my toe was super, throbbing, painful to walk sore… I hobbled to the pharmacy, dropped off the prescription and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes… So… hobbled over to the food department and selected a bottle of flavored fizzy water so I can take the medicine as soon as I pay for it… Then headed back to pharmacy and sat on a bench in front of it with a really large lady in her late 40’s. She was on the phone with her mom explaining that she could not finish shopping because it was too hot and she was really tired… Her mom was yelling at her to hurry up, while she explained that she needed laundry soap before leaving because nobody would do it for her and she needed to do laundry. I felt sorry for her…

Prescription was ready in 20 minutes as promised. I then sat back down and took my medicine right away… Prednisone with fizzy raspberry water.. yummy….. Hobbled to the front of the store, sat down on another bench and waited for John to arrive. He did 15 minutes later… with a really nice, butch hair cut….

I don’t like taking the Prednisone because it makes me tired, bitchy and queasy… but it is better then having a throbbing toe….

So this morning I woke up and my toe feels much better… still sore when I bend it, but not throbbing…. Made it to work with no problems and had a good day of programming. The project I’m working on is taking longer then expected, but I should be done with to tomorrow. Predicting how much time software development will take is tricky…. Sometimes I do a really good job of predicting and sometimes I’m way off…. It only takes getting hung up on a few small details to throw the hours off…. I would rather take a few extra hours and do a good job, then to slop something together quickly and hope for the best….

John took the Jeep to the dealership at 7:00am and they were able to fix the cruise control for around $100.00. The mechanic in Ohio forgot to connect something that caused the cruise to stop working. Sucks we have to pay for the other dealership’s mistake, but at least it is working now… and John is a bit happier….

This evening after work, I drove over to the Seattle Sutton distributor for our semi-weekly assortment of food. This is going to be our last week of doing Seattle Sutton for awhile. John is getting really sick of it, but does not bother me as much. But fresh vegetables and fruit is starting to come into season, so would like to head to local farmers market and Outpost Foods for a bit. Should be able to keep up with portion control and etc…. but will go on Seattle Sutton if I start to gain weight…..

After eating supper (whole wheat spaghetti with ground turkey red sauce and some quiche type side dish), I decided my foot was good enough to head to the gym. I did not work out at all last week because of my toe… so the workout tonight felt extra good… My toe hurt when I first put on my gym shoes, but once I started doing the TBT machine it did not hurt anymore. Managed to do full 30 minutes with no problem – just did not do as high of intensity was normal…. Did level 10 when I was doing 15 before…

Prince likes to sleep on John's pillow when he's working late...

Not much else going on… going to do some more stuff on computer, watch TV and get ready for next day of work…
