Greetings from another nice day in Iowa…

The weather has been great the past week.  We are finally getting some rain and the temps are back to normal – highs in the mid-80’s.  It’s amazing to see how quickly the grass in the lawn became green again.  Can’t tell three weeks ago it was mostly brown.

Work has been going fine.  The major project I’ve been working on for the past four months continues to grow.  The business owners, my manager and I keep finding more and more programming that needs to be adjusted to accomplish what they are asking for. I have my doubts that this project will go into production anytime this year.  I keep plugging away at it in hopes that I’m wrong…

Been enjoying my nightly bike rides.  Tonight was the first time that I noticed the days are starting to get shorter.  Was starting to become dusk when I make it back to the apartment after 90 minute ride.  The headlight on my bike broke a few months back.  I need to get it fixed, or replaced, so I can continue my rides knowing that I will be returning as the sun goes down.

Have signed up for ice skating lessons at the indoor ice rink that start in October.  Hope that I can transition from riding my bike to skating two or three times a week to get out and stay active.  Signed up for Adult 1 lessons so I can get a good grasp of the basics with my new figure skates.  Think I will ramp up to speed quickly, but don’t want to assume…

John’s college semester is 3/4th of the way done already.  His current classes appear to be more annoying then challenging.  Is hard to believe that he only has two and a half more months to go.  Hope they go by quickly.  He is starting to get some responses to his resume by some local employers.  He will probably start interviewing in the next month or so… with some luck..  Will be interesting to see what comes his way and what his starting salary will be….  He’s not allowed to make more then I do 😉

Not much else going on.  Got our nightly chores done – I put the garbage and recycling containers out on the curb and John vacuumed the hallways of the apartment building.  Going to play Warcraft, watch TV and relax…
